1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Weight Tracker for Couples ("we", "our" or "the application") collects, uses, stores and protects information in the Android application and public website. Weight Tracker for Couples is a general-purpose tracker, not a medical product, and does not provide medical, nutritional or training advice.

By using Weight Tracker for Couples, you accept the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Account Information

Weight Tracker for Couples starts in a local guest mode without creating a Firebase Authentication user or cloud profile. If you choose Continue with Google, Firebase Authentication may process your Google user ID, name, email address and profile photo. Eligible local progress is then imported into the selected Google account.

2.2. Profile and Tracking Information

• Display name, optional height, preferred weight unit, favorite chart color and optional profile photo.
• Weight value, measurement date, optional private note and synchronization metadata.
• Active target weight and goal metadata.
• Theme, selected chart period and dismissed interface prompts.
• Selected weekdays and time for local reminder notifications.

In local guest mode, profile, weight and goal information remains only on the device. After continuing with Google, eligible tracking information can synchronize to Firebase and be restored after reinstalling or changing devices. Reminder schedules and notification preferences remain on the device.

2.3. Partner Information

• A private invitation token, inviter display name, status and expiry.
• The reciprocal relationship between exactly two Firebase accounts.
• Links used by Firestore Security Rules to authorize canonical progress reads.

While connected, a Partner can see your available profile summary, favorite color, non-deleted weight values and dates, and active goal. They cannot see private notes, deleted records or synchronization metadata. If you grant permission, they can add weight entries for you and edit or delete only the entries they created.

2.4. Automatic Technical Information

Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase App Check and Google AdMob may process device model, operating-system and app version, system language, crash reports, technical error context, feature usage, app-integrity signals, advertising identifiers, IP address and ad interactions, subject to applicable consent requirements.

Weight Tracker for Couples does not send invitation tokens, account or profile IDs, names, email addresses, weight values, goals or notes as Analytics parameters or Crashlytics messages.

3. How We Use the Information

• Authenticate the correct account and restore its profile.
• Store, synchronize and display personal weight records and goals.
• Calculate charts, progress statistics and optional adult BMI reference information.
• Schedule local reminders explicitly configured by the user.
• Create, accept and disconnect a mutually approved Partner relationship.
• Diagnose crashes, protect requests, improve stability and prevent abuse.
• Enforce minimum supported versions and display App Open advertising.

4. Advertising

Weight Tracker for Couples shows ads through Google AdMob:

• App Open Ads: Shown when the app is opened or resumed after being in the background

AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve personalized or non-personalized ads, subject to applicable consent requirements. This is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Storage and Sharing

5.1. Local Storage

Hive stores guest or account-scoped profiles, weights, goals and pending synchronization for offline use. Device preferences store simple UI settings. Clearing app storage or uninstalling permanently removes unsynchronized guest data. Data already synchronized through a Google account remains in Firebase until it is deleted.

5.2. Firebase / Google (Service Provider)

• Firebase Authentication for optional Google authentication. Local guest mode does not create an Authentication user.
• Cloud Firestore for accounts, profiles, weights, private notes, goals, invitations and Partner relationships.
• Firebase App Check for request integrity.
• Firebase Remote Config for minimum-version and operational configuration.
• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics for diagnostics and stability.
• Google Sign-In for optional authentication and cloud backup.
• Google AdMob for App Open advertising.

Google processes information under its Privacy Policy and applicable product terms.

5.3. No Other Third Parties

We do not sell or rent personal or weight data. Information is disclosed only to the providers described above, to your active Partner after mutual acceptance, when you deliberately share an invitation through Android's share sheet, or when required by law or security obligations.

The shared invitation contains a private App Link. The recipient must sign in and accept before access is granted. Either person can disconnect; this removes both active access links without deleting either person's own data.

6. Data Security

6.1. Technical Security Measures

• HTTPS/TLS in transit and Firebase encryption at rest.
• Firebase Authentication and App Check.
• Firestore Rules with field allowlists and atomic reciprocal relationship checks.
• Account-scoped local storage and conflict-aware synchronization.
• Private notes stored separately from Partner-readable entries.

No system can guarantee absolute security, but we use safeguards appropriate to the data and services involved.

7. Data Retention

• Profile and tracking data remains while the Firebase account is active or until deleted.
• Deleted records may remain temporarily as synchronization tombstones.
• Pending invitations expire within seven days; their status may remain until account deletion.
• Disconnected relationship records may retain state timestamps for integrity and dispute handling.
• Local reminders remain until disabled, app storage is cleared or the app is uninstalled.
• Diagnostics, integrity and advertising data follows Google's retention policies.

8. Children's Privacy

Weight Tracker for Couples is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability. In Weight Tracker for Couples you can edit your profile and goal, edit or delete weights, delete month or year histories, disable reminders, cancel an invitation, disconnect a Partner and sign out.

10. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy when the product, providers or legal requirements change. The Last updated date will identify the current version.

11. Legal Compliance

This policy does not limit rights granted by mandatory law, including applicable European Union and Spanish data-protection law. We may disclose information if required by law or security obligations.
